Video: Firefighters take down PPE thief in Boston

BOSTON — Raw video shot on a cell phone shows Boston firefighters subduing a man who allegedly stole equipment from them.
A firefighter in the video asks the witness taping the incident to go away and explains that the man stole something from a fire truck.
Police say the man surrendered a firefighter's helmet from his backpack, according to WFXT.
One of his friends allegedly pushed a firefighter and he turned to flee, but ran into a pole and had to be treated at a local hospital, according to a police report.
The man's friend claims the thief never ran into a pole, but instead suffered injuries from firefighters slamming his head into the pavement.
