WASHINGTON — NIOSH has developed an infographic for firefighters to learn how to properly remove their gear at a fire incident to protect themselves from harmful contaminants trapped in their gear.
Research shows that contaminated gear can increase firefighters’ risk of cancer and other illnesses over time. Properly removing gear helps protect firefighters on and off the scene.
